Buffy Summers started out as your average California teenager, then at the age of 15, she found out that she was the Slayer. Her first Watcher, Merrick told her of her destiny. Fighting demons, saving the world, killing vampires was not on Buffy’s to-do list. After she finally accepted it, she fought evil creatures in L.A., and eventually got expelled from her school for buring down the school gym.
Along with her mother, Buffy moved to Sunnydale, California, also known as the Hellmouth, where the evil gravitates toward there, perfect place for a Slayer. There, she met her friends Willow and Xander, and met her new Watcher, and librarian, Giles. Buffy was first reluctant to continue being the Slayer, but she slays still.
At the end of the first season, Buffy was prophesized to fight the Master and die. At first she wasn’t going to go, but her duty side came through, and she went. There, the Master bit her, freed himself, and drowned her. But Xander gave her CPR, bringing her back to life, and she went and killed the Master. Buffy developed a relationship with a vampire with a soul named, Angel. On her 17th birthday, they made love, and giving Angel perfect happiness, causing him to lose his soul. He became Angelus, who took great pleasure in tormenting Buffy. In the second season finale, Buffy was kicked out of the house, expelled from school, and stabbed Angel with a sword, sending him to Hell. She saved the world again, but then fled the city to find a new life. Since she was dead a minute, a new Slayer, Kendra was called. Kendra died in Becoming, killed by Drusilla.
After her return, Buffy dealt with Faith, the new Slayer, and Angel returned from Hell, and they had an on again, off again relationship. Faith, jealous of Buffy, turned to the dark side, Angel broke up with her to give her a better life, and the town's Mayor turned out to be over a hundred years old, with intentions of destroying the town of Sunnydale. Angel's life was threatened by poison that Faith shot at him and Buffy's blood saved him. Weak, but determined Buffy went on to defeat the Mayor (in a giant snake form) by blowing up the school.
Throughout her first year at college, Buffy faced living on her own, having a semi-normal relationship, and struggling to keep her friends.After being used by Parker, Buffy became more cautious as to who she opened her heart too. She found a nice guy, grad student Riley Finn who showed promise. He worked for the Initiative, who created this half-man half-demon, half-machine, named Adam.
With the combined power of her friends, Buffy was able to summon new Slayer powers and defeat Adam.
Angel came back to Sunnydale a couple times, and she went to L.A. Their biggest fight was over Faith, Angel believed she should have a chance for redemption, but Buffy thought she should be locked up, after Faith had switched bodies with her and slept with Riley. They worked it out though.
Buffy ignored her friends, or put Riley before them, which caused rifts. It got back to normal at the end of the season.
